A journey towards Harmony

Welcome to Borgo Orfeo — a dream taking shape in the heart of Umbria.

Here, we are exploring the transformation of an ancient hamlet and the co-creation of a NEST: a place where people can land, reconnect, live, create and experience the richness of life together.

It is a journey inspired by the land, by ancient wisdom and by a growing awareness of how we might live more consciously — with ourselves, with one another and with the place we call home.

We are not creating this alone.

We are discovering it together.

The dream of Borgo Orfeo:

Inspired by the wisdom of the Etruscans

Borgo Orfeo is more than a village waiting to be restored.

It is an invitation to explore a different quality of living.

Our inspiration comes, among other things, from the Etruscans who once lived in these lands. Their relationship with nature, the seasons, community and the rhythms of life offers a fascinating source of inspiration for what might be possible here today.

We are not trying to recreate the past.

Instead, we ask ourselves:

What wisdom from the past might still have something to teach us about living well today?

At the heart of our vision is the creation of a NEST — a place where people can simply be, live, reconnect, share, create and contribute.

A place where daily life itself becomes an opportunity to experience a deeper quality of connection.

Community, natural rhythms, conscious practice and meaningful exchange form part of the foundation we are exploring together.

And rather than defining this experience in advance, we are allowing it to emerge through the people who feel connected to the vision.

The role of our custodians

Together, creating the NEST

The future custodians of Borgo Orfeo each bring something unique.

A different story.
A different talent.
A different way of seeing, creating and living.

And this is precisely where the magic of co-creation begins.

We believe that a community does not become harmonious because everyone is the same.

It becomes harmonious when each person is able to bring their own unique expression while remaining connected to something greater than themselves.

The custodians of Borgo Orfeo will each have their own relationship with the place.

Some may live here.
Some may create here.
Some may welcome others.
Some may grow food, work with their hands, share knowledge or simply bring their presence and perspective.

There is no single way to contribute.

What connects us is the intention to help create a place that is nourishing — for ourselves, for our neighbours and for the people who come here.

A living community.

A place where connection is not an idea, but something experienced in everyday life.

Perhaps this is what we mean when we speak of a NEST.

The unique atmosphere of our NEST

Many expressions, one living field

What makes the NEST we envision unique is not a particular architectural style or a fixed way of living.

It is the people.

Each person brings their own gifts, experience, creativity and way of being.

Together, these different expressions can become something that none of us could create alone.

Our inspiration is rooted in the land and in the long history of this region — including the Etruscan relationship with natural rhythms, community and the larger cycles of life.

We are curious about what happens when we bring some of that awareness into contemporary life.

Not as a doctrine.

Not as a system.

But as an invitation to remember something perhaps very simple:

that we are part of nature, not separate from it.

This land has witnessed many expressions of that connection.

The Etruscans lived here thousands of years ago. Centuries later, Francis of Assisi walked these lands and spoke from a deep connection with nature, animals, people and the sacredness of life.

Different times.
Different expressions.
Perhaps a similar thread.

A relationship with life that is based on connection rather than separation.

This is part of the inspiration we carry into the future of Borgo Orfeo.

Perhaps you feel it too

"Wow… this is interesting. I feel drawn to discover more.

I would love to visit this place, experience its atmosphere and meet the people who are part of its story.

Maybe there is something here for me too."
