We are not starting from scratch.

We are discovering what is already alive here, honouring the roots that came before us,
and nurturing what wants to grow together.

The memory of the place

Before Borgo Orfeo became part of our story, this hillside already held many stories of its own.

For generations, Castelvecchio was a place of work, daily life, shared memories and connection to the land. Its history lives not only in its old houses, but also in the people who remember it, the families who have cared for the land, and the rhythms that continue to shape life here.

Some people have known this place since childhood. Others have tended its fields and animals for decades. New neighbours, friends and visitors are now bringing fresh encounters and possibilities.

Each generation leaves something behind and adds something of its own.

We see ourselves as custodians of this continuing story: here to honour what came before, care for what is here today, and help create the conditions for new life to emerge.

Borgo Orfeo is not a story that begins with us.

It is a story we are privileged to continue.

From dream to co-creation

What began as a dream is becoming a living experience.

Through conversations on the terrace, shared meals, encounters with neighbours, the work of local farmers and the arrival of new friends, we are discovering how a community takes shape — one relationship, one gesture and one shared moment at a time.

Not everyone contributes in the same way. Some carry generations of knowledge. Others bring practical skills, fresh perspectives, enthusiasm or simply their presence.

There is no single blueprint for belonging.

Co-creation, for us, means recognising what each person brings, making room for different ways of contributing, and allowing new possibilities to emerge through real relationships.

The place, the people and the journey are shaping one another.

We are not building a community around a fixed idea. We are learning how to nurture the connections through which a community can flourish.
